me long never blog liao.

And i owe all of u a very big debt. I say i will upload the pictures and i have not done it yet. Pai seh... will get it done soon.

Firstly, today was the maris stella high school 50th anniversary prize awards ceremony. One word to describe it. BORING!!! Maybe not the part where i get my award. Im gonna upload of my trophy too :) Ohoh...I just give myself more work again :(

The introduction of the ceremony was "very interesting" and they talk about the school history. Here is my thought during the introduction : HURRY UP!!! My life and time is precious...I do not want to waste time sitting there and look like a dummy. I need to study for my SS, GEog, Chem and A Maths TESTQ!!! ******!!! Okay...Maybe, i dint think of the vulgarities during that time, but i know i nearly curse and swear in my mind.

After that, Bro. Anthony gave his "wonderful" speech (no offense there). He gave a "beautiful" long report of the school progress that near lullaby me to sleep. After that, this was the segment that I was waiting and anticipating for. TO GET MY TROPHY AND DONE WITH IT!!! Alright, i nearly want to use a bazooka to blast the English MC as she misread my name. Instead of calling me Caleb, she call celeb. Luckily, im a nice guy. The worst thing I will only do is to throw 10 thousand knifes at her. That is much better than using a bazooka. Told yar im a mr nice Guy. :)

Then, all of us went down for tea reception and i dint eat much as IM FULL!!!

Lets rewind to my life where I left it out in my blog. Actually, I cannot remember. Physic Skill 3 SPA was okay, but not for some people in my class. For example, like Chen Xi, timo and russell, they screw up in their test. They misread the question and they gonna get a big fat egg. I rather get a sausage than a egg. Tests were horrible for me. Almost everyday, every hour, every minute and every second there will be a test. Okay, maybe im kind of exaggerating, but its quite close. :P

Oh wow, im reading my latest post and realise i did not blog for almost 2 weeks. how amazing is that. what a feat!!! -.-

I remember another thing, my father went to buy durian and we feat on them. Some were bitter and some were sweet. i prefer the sweet. 45 more days to prelim 2, so FUN!!! Im being sarcastic here if you cannot here my tone.

Thats all folks (I think i walk too much cartoon network)

Life is so "fun" ...

Yar...alright...Let me talk about my weekend.
I went to Suntec city on Saturday night and i eat korean food. I order pork set with rice and is the food is quite to delicious. Then after that, i went to Carefour (again...) and walk! of course i walk, what you expect, i crawl? I also kind of forget what we shop there? specifically, we just shop everything. Oh yar, there was a mini book sale in the carrefour and i went to look for the northern light. however, i only find amber spyglass which i have already. my mum were looking through all the cook books.

After that, we went home. that is the obvious. :P

Sunday, nothing special happen.

Haha...thats all folks.

Heyhey...

Life is normal for me like any teenagers in Singapore. School reopen and yar. Lessons were okay and this week is okay for me. I'm still having hard time memorising my scales for my piano. i keep on forget.

Today is quite an extraordinary day. today is marist youth day and i wore home clothes to school. the consequence was i had to pay 2 dollar. so, i paid up. lol. me and my team dressed up kwok cheong for the dressing up competition. we dressed him as a pirate . why we chose to dress him as a pirate as the theme for the competition was journey. actually, i considered of dressing kwok cheong to corrine may, but tat was kind of a bad idea. haha. corrine may sang a song called journey too, so i thought corrine may was okay for the competition. suraj took the picture of kwok cheong dressing up as a pirate and i took the picture from him. i will post the pictures in my blog and friendster too. maybe also facebook. christopher and xian yi helped to draw tattoos and scars on kwok cheong and it was quite a well done. during the compeition, competitors have to walk at the courtyard and display their costume. i took every pictures of all different competitiors, which i will post them soon too. when kwok cheong's turn came, he took out his singlet vest and swing around. he bare his chest and my whole class scream to gave him support. he is very sporty and thick-skin to do that daring move. but all pays off. he came in the top 3. spongebob squarepant (my fav. costume whom i thought that class will be champion) came in second and another pirate came in first. haha.

after the dressing up competition, i went around the whole school to see different kind of stalls set up by different classes. i went to dedicate a song called flipside by the click five and i had to pay 2 dollars. the dedication only cost one dollar, my student council force me to pay 2 dollar and the dedication stall was tended by them. how unfair! then, i went down to buy a Moo ice cream. i bought quite alot of food and i was so full. the rest of the time, i stayed in the class and chatted with my friends. after the whole carnival, we packed up and cleaned the classroom and we lazed around till 12.45pm. i took alot of pictures during that time too. oh yar, i nearly forget. after the dressing up competition, we took a class picture. so yar. want to complain about joshua and bayu. they leaned on me during the photoshoot. they think they were so light. i nearly get squashed into roti prata by them.

Alright, better go study liao.

I'm signing off... :)

Hm...how should i feel when school is going to reopen? excited, sad or happy??? or maybe other emotions?

Guess what? we got 5 new erp gantries and now total add up to 65 islandwide erp gantries. cool rite? we r famous for erp. if u play maple sea, and u go to singapore, the first thing you will see at the background is a big picture of erp gantry. the best part is, the price went up to two dollar. how cool is that? alrite, did i say cool? can the government stop adding gantries and increase the price, singapore price of living is already very high. and singaporean salary are not increasing too. sigh, this is singapore.

Life is normal for me as usual. im just another ordinary o level mugger for this june holiday. cant wait for this torture season to end. i want my psp back, got confiscated. sigh...

piano exam also coming this august and im not prepared...seriously, this year is a torturing year for me. sobz...

Yesterday was Father's Day so i want to wish all the fathers in the world, inculding mine father a very belated Happy Father's Day. Please dont ask me what did i get for my father as i will not tell. Okay, i get for him something special and unique, i got my idea from a comic...lol

Last Saturday, me, my family and my mum side went to SPOM (Senior Police Officer Mass, finally i know what they stand for) for Father's Day dinner. All the adults were present but not all the cousins. Only 7 of us were present, so we kind of have more shares in the food. We ordered deep fried toufu with sweet sauce, some kind of vegetable, deep fried prawns, stir fry fish, soft shell crab and rice lol. i tink thats all. then, we have coconut and logan dessert. after dinner, my cousin dragged me to the karoake room to sing. oh yar, before we go into the karoake room, she saw her school discipline mistress at SPOM too. she said hi to her and the DM was surprised to see her too. she at first thought i was the boyfriend of my cousin, but my cousin lied to her saying i was her brother and she believed lol. okay, so we went to the kaoroake room and sang alot of songs and all of us enjoyed ourselves. i felt that i sang horribly.

Yesterday my mother took over the kitchen and fried chicken wings, some kind of meat rolls, pan cake, fried rice and fish cake. I nearly died eating them as they were all very oily. very soon, im going to be a fatty bombom...Haiz...

Oh man, school holiday is going to be over, kind of drag lessons as this mean there will be more test and prelim 2 is coming. haiz...Life is like this, i better go study.

Hey everyone....

Yesterday went to swee choon to have dim sum for dinner. my family ordered har kow, da pau, char siew pau, beancurd prawn, siu mai, carrot cake, yam fritters, spring roll and so on. we ordered quite alot of food but i kind of forget. then, we have red bean paste for dessert. wah...that was extremely delicious. the pancake is very crispy. and the red bean paste is not thick, the quantity is just now. and every bite of it makes you want to eat even more.

After dinner, we went to carefour and suntec city for a walk. that side have alot of before midnight sales. the reason is simple. this timing is great singapore sale, hence carefour came out with alot of offers. when there were offers, my mother dashed towards the durian area to see whether is there any offer on the durians. luckily, the durians sold there were expensive and not fresh. if not, im going to suffer by eating alot of the durians as two weeks ago we just had 4 big durians. i nearly died. i love durians, but im scared of them for now. we walked around the whole carefour until about 11.30pm. we went to look for feather pillow as my mother was complaining about her therapeutic pillow. she said it was too hard for her too sleep. she prefer feather pillow as it was soft and fluffy. however, the pillows sold there were low quality, hence my mum did not want to buy. she decided to buy her pillow from OG at china town. she like the jean perry brand. fussy mummy :P

we also went to the home decoration area and i went to see the wall clocks. as my wall clock in my room spoil, i wanted to buy a new one. i saw a nice stylish silver square big wall clock which cost 13.90 dollar. however, my mum tell me to source other area first like maybe ntuc fairprice extra or other place that sell clocks. there maybe other areas that sell nicer one. i agree her but i kind of love that clock at carefour. in the end, i reluctantly did not buy that clock. sigh. i hope i will not regret my decision.

we also went to the fridge area. there is a LG refrigerator makes my mum fall in love with it. the reason is simple. there are many real crystals embroidded in it and the design is very stylish. it is red in colour. it has two side doors. for me, i fell i love with it because of the ice dispenser and water dispenser. the interior design was quite stunning too. i just dunno how to describe. u r should go to carefour to check that red fridge out. my dad dunt find it appealing due to its price. it cost about 4299 dollar. lol. haiz...

today, i did some study and continue to apply dsa. the dsa is very stressful, must type alot of things. then, i blog, facebook and friendster. still in the process of making jeremy ratnam and boythunder fan club. good news, 9 people have join the fan club in facebook. boythunder must be happy lol. :)

Finally, my blog's renovation is over...How's the new look? nice?

Btw, quite alot of things have happened. I shall talk about radio 91.3fm first. Petrina Kow and Joe Augustine from the morning show have left radio 91.3. What a sad news. Petrina decided to resign because she want to spend more time with her family. For Joe, he was asked to leave. That is so unfair to him. I mean, he is a sole breadwinner and he loves his job, and now the management decided to ask him to leave. Is it unfair? Just because Petrina leave, so they feel that Joe is useless. Sigh...Joe has my sympathy. So now, you must be wondering who is doing the morning show? From next monday onward, there will be a new brand show. The hosts are suzanne walker, sheik haikal, elliott danker and boythunder. Talking about boythunder, i have set up a fan club for him aka Gerald Koh and Jeremy Ratnam. The fan site is still under construction, so yar. When is out, I will reveal. I also have created Jeremy Ratnam and Boythunder Fan club is facebook which is a group. If you are fan of them, please join the group. What a good listener of me :P

Life for me is should i say okay...went to school for intensive revision programme. oh yar, yesterday went to Student Council trash talk @ Src to collect the president file. i need to file what i have over this holiday. hehe. last minute :P. and you know what, yesterday is the last day for intensive revision too. dunt need to go back to school and dunt need to wake up early! Yipee!!!

Lets talk alittle bit about Singapore politic which i have to be quite sensitive. Alright, as we know, chee soo juan and his sister has been defaming Mr Lee Kuan Yew and our Prime minister Lee Hsien Long. Im not going to say why they defame them, if you want to know more, you are can check in the internet. Seriously, i respect what Chee Soo Juan and his sister are doing as they do what they feel is right. They do not care whether they will be sent to jail or get bankrupt, they still stand to their belief and do it. However, with all due respect, i mean they know that they will never win our MM and PM, so why dunt Dr. Chee and his sister do something for their life. Why dunt they clear their bankruptcy and do something more fruitful like being a rich businessman and woman. If do not like Singapore government, why dunt they immigrate to overseas? Why waste their talent and intelligent? They should do something more fruitful instead of going against Singapore Government. That is how i feel.

Also recently, there this former singaporean who is an american citizen now. i kind of forget his name. lol. he went to criticize Justice Belinda Ang and challenge Mr Lee Kuan Yew to catch him. Why is that american guy so stupid? if he want to criticize, stay in america and do whatever he want. no one cares. but if he come to singapore, he will get caught. sometimes, we have to use our brain before doing anything rash. sigh...people are like this, not happy, then do something foolish.

Horrible!

My group dint win anything for the National Youth Science Fair competition. So unfair. I hope my group will win gold in East Zone this coming July. Last Thursday was the prize presentation and exhibition. Everything was boring. But...we manage to sneak into the Science Centre without any admission fee. Hehehe. Inside was so fun. I love the area called I Space. I love the lightin ambience. I regretted of not taking pictures of the Science Centre. Oh man. I only took the pictures during prize presentation which i will post onto the blog later.

Then friday, the same usual, I have to be there for the exhibition. We went into the science centre again and i sat onto the electric chair. The vibration was so vigorous that my eyes feel a sharp pain. Dunno why.

Yesterday which was Saturday, i went to Jumbo to have a nice dinner. My family ordered a set meal. The set meal does not have Shark Fin, so my mother ordered 5-6serving of shark fin. My father and me ate one bowl each, she ate the rest. She was so happy. Me dunt fancy sharkfin. The set meal consist of appetizers ( scallop wrap p in deep fried yam, duck salad, jellyfish and baby deep fried squid), prawns coated in salted egg, black pepper king crab, broccolli with dried scallops, seafood fried rice and honeydew sago. My favourite was fried rice. The taste is heavenly. Talking about it now makes me hungry.

After eating @ Jumbo, we went to carrefour to shop. We went to Suntec. That place was so crowded. Makes me feel like im in market. Staff there were shouting offers and deals at carefour. My mother was attracted by the durians and bought 4 containers of durians. Dunno whether we can finish. The durians are now in the fridge and I can even smell it when I'm in the living room. The smell is very strong, but I love it.

I hate David Cook. Wha lao, he dont deserve to win american idol lar. His singing is so horrible. I support David Archulata. He is so much better. His singing makes you feel like you are in heaven. Just jking. But you have to admit that 17 year old boy sing much more better that David Cook. Even Simon Cowell said that David A singing knock out David Cook singing. However, the decision still lies in the america audiences. They vote for David Cook. Damn. Why cant they vote for talents, not popularity. Haiz...

Manchester United Rocks!!! We won Chelsea in the Champions League. Thanks to John Terry for missing the penalty shot. W00t!

After that, we cousins chi chattin away and took one picture. I will put it up when i get that picture from clarissa.

Hihi

Tomorrow is my birthday!!! Yipee...Today going out with my family and my mum side for a reunion gathering dinner, watever u call it. Later we goin to Singapore Polytechnic to have our dinner. Last time was Republic Polytechnic, now Singapore Polytechnic. Don't know why my family like to go poly to eat. Next time we going to Temasek, Nanyang or Ngee Ann lol. Hope my cousins got prepare birthday present for me. :P

Yesterday my parents brought me out for dinner to celebrate my birthday. I had ribeye steak with catfish accompanied with light brown sauce. My father had sambal prawns and NZ ribeye steak (so malay style). My mum regreted her order. She ordered honey cheese tenderloin steak. She stated that it was horrible and it was so sweet. Actually, i kind of like her tenderloin steak, its quite juicy. Our steak our medium well, so alittle bit bloody. We do not like well done as it will be too hard. We also have lobster soup and garlic bread. I love the garlic bread, not the lobster soup. After that, we ordered two chocolate and almond ice cream, one mango jelly ice cream and mango moose cake. Oh man, those were delicious. Oh yar, i havent mention where we went to eat those delicious food. We went to Jack's Place @ Ang Mo Kio. When we were about to leave the Jack's Place, we ordered a chocolate moose cake for my birthday and it will be collected on Monday. Delicious...After that, we went to Junction 8 to shop.

Last Friday was an enjoyable and suffering day. In School, i celebrated my birthday in school. We had 3 cakes 1kg each. 2 blackforest and 1 chocolate cakes. Our form teacher and subject teachers were invited too. All of them sang me happy birthday song in english and chinese then i make a wish. (not telling wat my wish is). Then, i blew out the candle (like da...). After that, supposedly, as a birthday boy, i should be the one cutting the cakes, but Ms Lee cut those cakes instead. She say we r boys, do not know hot to cut cakes. (Muahaha, i slack lol, i just serve cakes only). When Ms Lee was about to cut the cakes, she was stunned. She do not know how to divide the cakes. Luckily, Mr Wu our maths teacher come and save the day. He told Ms Lee how to divide and everything is solved. Everyone enjoyed my birthday cakes. Mrs Tan Chin took a picture of me with my birthday cake. I will post that picture in the blog and friendster later. Let me tell al of you which teachers were present or my birthday mini party. Ms Tan, Mrs Tan-Chin, Mr Wu, Ms Aida, Ms Lee, Mr Chong. Mr Xing Han came in last minute as he remembered my birthday last minute. When he came in into the home econ room, all the cakes were eaten up. I feel bad though, forget to reserve one piece of cake for Mr Xing. Oh yar, i need to complain ah lol. At the beginning, we were waiting for the teachers, only Ms Aida and Ms Tan were present. Then, i have to make my way to the staff room to find the rest of the teachers. Ms Lee, Mrs Tan Chin and Mr Wu forgot. I was like ...WAT!!!! How can they forget...But tats okay. Mr Chong came in between as he told me he was busy. I invited Mrs Tey, Mr Kwok and Mr Teo but all them were busy. Ms Jazilah is on MC. Mrs Tan Chin gave me a birthday present, she mms me the picture she took of me with the cake lol. Ms Tan gave me a birthday card and a box of tibit. Nicholas Hong gave me volume 5 naruto anime and a birthday card. That present was the best. Thanks Nicholas, Ms tan and Mrs Tan Chin. Why suffering? becoz of my results lar...so horrible. Get scolded by my mum. haiz...Its okay, i will study hard and score well in prelim 2. Tat is for sure.

this coming week is the exhibition of the science fair. We are going to science centre...interesting. Let's talk about D Gray Man. Jasdevi fought with Krory and the rest of them escaped. Krory got trapped inside a coffin with full of spikes at the end of the show. Next episode Krory become Bloody Krory. That episode die die must watch. the fighting scene is one of the coolest.

MAN UNITED WILL WIN CHELSEA IN CHAMPION LEAGUE!!!

Theses two judges only judged three teams. The three teams are us, CHIJ St. Nicholas and Raffle Instituition. st Nic did about sphidrons...Very mathematics...There is no link with this competiton. For RI, they did about ionised water. I feel that we are the best...Im not being proud and arrogant. But thats the truth. Muahaha :P

Maris Stella High School 50th Anniversary Concert @ Esplanade

Hey Everyone!

I'm back!!! Prelim is so called "over". However, still have Chemistry SPA Skill 3 Exam on Monday. Only need one day to study. Hence, I am able to blog!Woopee!!!
If for those who do not know, I'm already wearing white shoes and not wearing black shoes. I'm not wearing tie too. The reason is simple. I have already stepped down as the President of the Student Council. I know I am one of the best president, so please do not cry. I know that all the student councilors will miss me. Seriously, my skin is getting thicker day by day. Need to thin my skin. However, this is the fact. Just for your information, the rest of the EXCOs have stepped down too. We officially stepped down on 1st May, 2008 which is Labour Day, how appropriate. All of the EXCOs are wearing white shoes too except Shien Tah and Justin Yeo. Both of them say they will buy white shoes after their prelim. Hence, I guess they buy this weekend.

So many things happen and I got so much to thing to say. Two weeks ago, I have a family gathering with my mother side for my grandmother's 1st Death Anniversary. We gathered @ the Mandai Columbarium and sang christian songs. How cool can that be?! After that, all of us made our way to the Republic Polytechnic @ woodlands for our dinner. There is a restaurant there. The Republic Polytechnic is so big lar! The building and facilities are so cool. However, I'm not aiming for poly. Okay, so what did we have @ the restaurant located @ Republic Polytechnic? Please dont ask me the restaurant name. The children all sat at one table and the adults sat another table. The children table has buttered lobsters, fried toufu ball, broccolli with mushroom, deep fried chicken, fried rice, pulau hitam with ice cream and i cannot remember the rest of the dishes. For the adult side, I didn't really bother. So, I don't know what the hell they eat! After that, all the adults were happy chit-chatting away and clarissa and huiyue pull me out of the restaurant to take pictures. We took alot and some were hilarious. I will post those pictures later. By the way, on that day too, my leg was bandaged as I sprained my ankle. I do not want to go into detail on what the chinese sensei do to my legs. I don't think you want to know it.

All 5 MSHS Life Science groups are qualified for the finals for the National competition. It is not related to Elementz Competition. It is much bigger and more grand. This competition is called Singapore Youth Science Fair, Shell Science Fair 2008. This competition is national which Elementz is only north zone. I hope we will win so wish us all the best. We have to present our project to the judges @ Saint Andrew Junior College next Monday. Scary...

Now D-Gray Man is quite boring. The latest episode, the two Noah twins finally merged and become Jasdevi . I cannot wait for the next few episodes where Krory will become crimson mode and fight Jasdevi. Those fighting scenes will be cool. I have read the manga. Lol...Spoiler... :P

I'm kind of nervous for next week. Nest week I get back my Prelim 1 results. Hope I will be able to get A1s for all subjects, it will not be easy, but i'm praying hard.

Has anyone watch Iron Man? Oh man, this show rocks my world. The animation were so cool. ANd i love the armour, red and gold...nice combination colour. The story line is quite interesting and sophiscated. The best part was Tony Stark told the press..."the truth is, I'm Iron Man." :) I recommend everyone to watch. Spoiler: If you go theatre and watch movie, stay @ your seats for a short scene and the end of the credits. That part must watch!!! Die Die must watch!!!

Man utd better win Wigan this weekend. Do not let Chelsea get over their head, especially, Michael Ballack. Man Utd GOGOGO!!! Win the EPL Cup!

I want to cry!!!

My team got only bronze for the Elementz Competition held @ Anderson Junior College. I expected to win Gold, not bronze :(
Maris Stella sent 5 teams and 3 teams get Gold and 2 teams get Bronze. NOT FAIR! We work so hard, put in so much effort, and we get Bronze only. So disappointing. That happened on Wednesday. Then today, We go to Anderson Junior College again to exhibit our Life Science Project and support two "VERY GOOD" teams who gave their presentations to the participants of this competition in the auditorium. I am so Jealous. I so hate my judges. They are unconvinced that celery would able to reduce blood pressure within one day. But our result is true. Haiz...I want my Gold. Today also receive our Bronze trophy and cerfiticate. I want the Gold trophy. However, I still must be grateful as I did not get cerfiticate of participation and COC (Dunno what it represents). No matter what, I'm still proud for those teams that get Gold as they do Maris Stella proud.

Tuesday Maris Stella High School 50th Anniversary Concert was extravaganza. I did not regret of going there. The starting of the concert was hilarious. The Drama club put up a short skit and it was comical. I nearly laugh off my head. After that, the symphonic band play their pieces. It was very mesmerizing. They played Rolling Thunder, Rumble on the High Plains, Wilson Suite (Movt II & III), Noah's Ark and Hymn to the Sun. All was very nice. After that, the symphonic band played Dancing Queen and Mamamia and there were dancers too. I took the video. I will post it and show to all of you. After that, it was the Chinese Orchestra (after intermission). I feel that it was very boring lol. At the end, symphonic band and chinese orchestra combined and played Spring Festival Overtune. That was extremely stunning. At the very end, the symphonic band played the school song and everyone were singing very loudly. After that, everyone shouted ENCORE and they played the school song again. I took a video of this too lol :P That night was memorable.

Kanda and Skin Bolic died lol in episode 79. The fighting scene was quite cool. I like Kanda's third illusion. I cannot wait for episode 80 where Krory will fight with Jasedbi. W00t!!!

Oh Man!!!

This coming Wednesday is the Life Science 9th Elementz competition. Abit worried. We have finished the poster and it look nice (except i do not really like the heading of the poster). Wish my team all the best for the presentation to the judges and able to present them. Hope my team will able to get gold and make it into the final. ALLTHE BEST!

I started to play a very lame MMORPG game, it is Endless Online. It is quite similar to maple, but the graphic is not as good. The good thing is the character can move everywhere, not like maple, only sideways. BORING!!! Currently, Im level 3 and Im filthy rich. I do not know why. Maybe I am a good businessman. :P The file for the game is very small, but quite difficult to play. It is not beginner friendly. You must figure alot of thing on yourself.

Wah! The last D-Gray Man episode was quite boring. Kanda did not put up much fight with the SkinBoric. In the end, Kanda killed SkinBoric. However, in the next episode, SkinBoric revived and give Kanda his own medicine. Oh yar, this episode also reveal Kanda's third illusion. This illusion will give him a extreme fast speed, but will reduce his life span.

Muahahaha....Tomorrow, I will reveal the positions of the 35th EXCO...Feel the tension....

My preliminary is coming and Im still not doing much thing. i better go study.

I want to thank the person (whom I previously scold Stupid Dumbass). Why I want to thank him? Because he come and apologise to me, I appreciate that alot. At that point of time, I was very angry with him, hence I scold him Stupid Dumbass. Now, I deeply regret for what I have said. So, I also want to apologise to that person. No hard feeling!!!

Today was the Student Council General Election Rally Day. All the nine EXCO nominees gave their speech and Im quite impressed with all of them. Keep it up. Tomorrow will be a very big day. Tomorrow is the Student Council General Election Polling Day. Wish the EXCO nominees all the best for tomorrow.

Oh yar, today Dr. William Tan came to our school. He is a very inspiring speaker. He is very famous in Singapore and in the world. Recently, he just broke a world record by wheel-chairing of a marathon. Lol. He gave us a very motivatiting speech and I also learned about his background. He has a very suffering ife when he was young. However, now, he is a very successful person. He gave us a advice, which is "NEVER GIVE UP!" I will remember that. By the way, here is a little background of him

The man is truly awesome: NUS graduate, neuroscientist, medical doctor, Olympic wheelchair athlete and world records holder. For the last 18 years, Dr William Tan has raised $16 million through his 60 ultra marathons, which included pushing himself in his racing wheelchair through gravel and snow from the North to the South Poles. He was the first man to complete ten marathons in seven continents over 65 days in a wheelchair. On 6 April 2007, he did it again by becoming the first person in the world to accomplish a marathon in the North Pole in a wheelchair over 21 hours and 10 minutes in extreme conditions, including wind chill temperature of minus 25 degrees Celsius. Only six to twelve feet of ice separated him from the 12,000 feet of Arctic Ocean below.

Dr Tan’s life is synonymous with challenges. Polio at the age of two left him paralysed from the waist down. Before the age of 15 when he was introduced to the wheelchair by a paralysed policeman, he had to be carried around, and then learned to walk on crutches and leg braces. Despite his disability and a humble family background, he went on to become a neuroscientist and a medical doctor, winning scholarships to Harvard and Oxford.

Over the years, amongst the many beneficiaries of his grit and guts have been kidney patients (1987), the Universities Endowment Fund (1993), the Professorship in Geriatrics (2000), the Children’s Hospital in Boston (2002), Children with Leukemia, London (2003), the Professorship in Paediatric Oncology at NUS (2005), the “Global Flying Hospital” (2007), Free Wheelchair Mission, California (2007) and Saint George Hospital, Sydney (2007), to name just a few.

Despite winning many awards like the Readers’ Digest Inspiring Asians Award, the Commonwealth Youth Award, the Outstanding Young Persons of the World Award and the Distinguished Alumni Award, Dr Tan remains a humble person, always acknowledging the contributions of his parents, teachers, and alma mater to making him who he is today. Not only does he gives back to the community through his fundraising efforts, he travels all over the world sharing his life story to inspire others to overcome adversity and live life to the fullest. Indeed, as Dr Tan aptly puts it, “There are no dreams that are unattainable for anyone who has the will and determination to redefine what is humanly possible!”
